Match Report - Coggeshall Town Reserves v Reserve Team
Back in action after the mid winter snow break, the Ressies made the short journey to Coggeshall. Back in the squad were Ricky Shields and Stuart Bragg, and also included was youngster Joel Shurvinton. However, bad news a couple of hours before kick off when keeper Pudney reported he had been unable to shake of a bad back he woke with that morning. Vince donning the gloves once again.
Early exchanges were even, but Colne gradually took advantage of the elements, and with the wind on their backs began to peg Coggeshall back. Match Report - First Team v Mersea Island
Earls Colne got back into action in the Border league with a home game against Mersea, the visiting team including 3 ex Halstead Town players in Liam Springett, Micheal Lynes and Luke Passfield. With a lot of positional changes and a different formation, the Ressies started slowly. Nobody seemed to be able to get the ball under control cleanly first time. After 20 minutes, Holland took the lead. Slack marking from a corner allowed the forward time and space to stab the ball home. Keeper Pudney rallied his troops and things started to improve. Bubgee was beginning to find space down the right, but the visitor’s left back was solid. M. Huwes was working hard to find space and on the half hour, he latched onto a long...

"Full credit to the home goal keeper who had a very good game and pulled off two fantastic saves from one on one positions. Also, our appreciation goes to Earls Colne for providing a wonderful surface to play on, and for some very warm hospitality...
