Glenn and Cootey were selected for the Border League representative side in a game against the SIL representative side at Framlingham on Tuesday 1st April. The game ened 3-3. Glenn was also chosen to captain the Border League side. Great stuff lads, a reward for your performances for Colne this season.

It was Di who had the golden touch this week. Following last weeks bingo ball win, she scooped the pub card this week and then to everyones astonishment lucky number 17 rolled out yet again! So....... we thought we would have an additional roll of the balls for a fiver in, winner takes all! The crowd watched on as Di, to everyones disbelief chose a different number! rejecting lucky 17, she swooped for her birthday ( Gaffer was gonna have this one as it is his birthday too!) and you guessed it, as the balls rolled in the cage, out came number 24, and yes it was Di's birthday ball! Newly crowned Gypsy Lee Di is now setting up a tent in the foyer at the club every Saturday for palm reading and tarot cards!!

Latest addition to the site is the 'lookalikes' page, where Mark has paired up faces with famous lookalikes. Sometimes you need to have a little patience when you look at the chairmans page, because it takes a few seconds more to load, due to the quality of the pictures. It is worth the wait though!

The floodlights went on, Lister junior and skipper Glen raced down the carpet to where 'trapper Mike' had reset the trap, seeking revenge, after much baiting at the club, and down at his local!
With light saber in hand, Lister junior dug deep, and his face, along with 'Skip's' lit up as bright as the saber as they pulled a defeated 'Barry' from the hole to show 'the gaffer'
He was then put on centre stage on the floodlight, as the players tried to concentrate on training! But excitement got the better of many of the players and coaching staff, as an early finish saw 'Glenda' and 'Wag' rushing to the bar to snap 'Barry' in an array of poses!

We think 'Barry' has got the hump, one of his mates has told him about being made into ;WAG'S' slippers.
He is giving Mike Lister the runaround! Into the rough he went to avoid capture, so Mike thought that he had the upper hand and went into the rough with the trap! But! as Wag went up to cut the pitch himself late this week, he taunted not only Mike, but 'the gaffer ' too as he brought some mates in to make 3! yes 3 new hills back pitchside!
Who will win? Gaffa has confidence in 'Mike the mole catcher'! To be continued!...............

| Don promises to put facia on stand |

Legend Don Cutmore has promised to put the last white facia on the stand. He is also looking to sort out the flags before we get to our next run of home games. Don has done some excellent work on the stand and the club thanks him (...but not too much as he'll only take the pi$$)

| 'Barry the mole'raises his head |

'Barry the mole' has been spotted making his return to the rec after many a year, he has gone to great lengths to remain undetected even by changing his name from 'Malcome'
But early on the 27th Aug 2007 he was seen to raise his pretty head above ground to watch the gaffer cutting the pitch!
At the moment he is just helping Wag out by providing some lovely topsoil to use for filling in the divetts, but beware Barry, the gaffer is watching for encroachment onto the playing area!
And if you venture this far 'Woe betide ya!'

The club needs to raise additional funds in order to push the standards higher. No one gets paid but we need to keep the club running which means paying for the pitch maintenance (eg. weed spraying), new shirts etc. We are looking for major new sponsors who would be proud to be associated with us, we are currently looking into pitchside sponsors boards, on the stand and around the pitch. Contact Glenn, our sponsorship manager or Mark the chairman if you have other ideas.
Please supporrt club events, and ensure you get sponsored. After Bubs' sucess at the presentation night, we are preparing for a quiz night at the club.
